Maybe you could check if they have a cancellation fee. We cancelled the membership my spouse had a year or so ago, and I don't think we paid a cancellation fee. The fee we were paying was close to $80/month, so your rate does not sound too bad.

Can you give the membership to someone who will use and enjoy your generosity? Consider it a lifelesson learned about yourself. We all make mistakes, buy stuff that disappoints or doesn't work out as we wished.

I don’t think they’ll refund your membership unless you say you’re relocating to a different city. Hint hint! I had the same problem; I wanted to work out but I never made it to the gym. Eventually I bought the Insanity workout and I’m on week 3 now. Let me tell you, the results are absolutely phenomenal. That might work better for you. Or you can do pilates, there are quite a few free pilates channels on youtube.
