So far everything I had bought used was in very good condition. If something is in good condition, then I would be willing to pay the same whether or not it was new or used......whichever is the most convenient for me.

FYI sometimes two financial calculators look exactly the same but one is "student edition". I would rather get a professional edition used than a student edition new.

That is pretty much of a slam and a rude insult to assume someone is "lazy or stupid" to buy on Ebay. Sheesh.

I buy most of my internet purchases on Amazon. I love, love, love Amazon. And, usually it is for things i cannot find around here. I bought Season I of "The Middle" on Amazon. I buy tons of used books that i cannot find elsewhere on Amazon. I buy all kinds of things that i cannot find here at the local Walmart or mall. Sometimes, i do find it at the mall but wait for a deal on amazon and get a better price.
As for Ebay, i buy stuff that is no longer made or being sold. Things like old comic books, etc. Recently, i purchased concert tickets as the show was already sold out and buying from other ticket sellers, i don't have as much confidence in that.

I think some of it is simply the "thrill of the hunt". People like to hunt down a bargain, even if they are not really saving much money on some EBay items.
