My husband said, buy anything you want for sunday dinner, but not pork chops. W have had them 3 weeks in a row and then he takes them for lunch. They are so cheap compared to other meat!

I'm still seeing corned beef for 1.19/lb....anybody for St. Pat's day in June?

Also, one of the grocery stores I shop at had a poster on display. Apparently CA got hit with very heavy rains the first week of April. Washed the salad crops away. So its not just gas prices that are causing the greens to go up.

I went to buy my canned cat food today, and it's cheapest one too! They have put the price up by 8.45% to .71c can 400g 12 months ago it was .59c a can. That's 16.9% up in 6 months.

Brand name Whiskas can cat food reg. price here $1.19 can 400g at times I can get this on special around 89c can. Which I buy for variety I would get sick of dark tuna meat too! It's their favourite.

Oh my god YES. I use coupons for things I normally buy. What we eat for that week is what is on sale for that week and the groceries still seem to be higher than before. The one nice thing is that my mom is back from FL and she lives by her self so when we see somthing that is buy one get one free we will split the cost of it. Also, if we have some food that may spoil before we use it we share what we have. This helps keep the cost down.

It is on produce that I have most noticed the increase. Yesterday I got lucky. I went for a walk and thought I'd pick up some t.p. on the dollar store along the way. Well, the dollar store was closed, but I went into the grocery next door and found bananas at 19 cents a pound, just because they were already as ripe as I like them. Good deal.

Yes, very true. I've also noticed that restraunts have new menus....meaning....they've started raising their prices too. So the cycle goes....I wonder how long it is going to take before I get a raise.....promise that will be a while!!
