I buy books online at Alibris.com for $2.95. I compare the book with Amazon to see if they are cheaper. I know the library is no cost and the Salvation Army is cheap also. I just thought I would tell you about Alibris where I have found some good bargains on hard to find books and music.

I'm reading "What looks like crazy on an ordinary day" by Pearl Cleage and I'm loving it. The characters are so well writen that you feel you can step into their skins. It was on the Oprah book club list about 6 yrs ago I think, so you can pick them up quite cheaply now.

I started The Book of Trouble, by Ann Marlowe, recently. It's about a love affair between a Jewish woman and an Afghan man. I believe it's a memoir. I'm also reading Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It's about using meditation to deal with pain. And then I have a pre-Algebra book and Algebra book out, to see what DD's school currently uses to teach these levels of math.

Annie Lammott's Hard Laughter, the Millionaire Next Door, Uncle John's 10th anniversary bathroom reader, and Tightwad Gazette II are on my nightstand. I am a big reader and evidently have a short attention sapn.

Just started Welfare Brat by Mary Childers - a memoir about growing up in a "welfare family". Also finished Love Overboard by Janet Evanovich - one of her short early romances that has just been republished. Very much in the style of Stephanie Plum! I also have Back to the Bedroom by Janet E., but have not started it yet.

JoyJoy - Mary Higgins Clark has a new one? I'll have to add that to my list.

I just bought" It's a Meaningful Life" by Bo Lozoff for 50 cents at a yard sale.
I had never heard of Bo before this but the book looked interesting and what could I lose for 50 cents.
I couldn't put it down. It is so inspiring.
I checked Amazon and ordered more books by him. I'm currently reading "Just Another Spiritual Book" by Bo.
Have " We All Doing Time" ordered and on the way.

If you are interested in teaching from all the worlds great religions you may just love Bo Lozoff's books as much as I do.
He is such a terrific writer I almost feel as though he is right there with me.

For financial books I love Harvard Professor Elizabeth Warren's books.
She is down to earth , compassionate, and very wise.

I am reading Anne Lamott's newest book, "plan B", which I love (I love all of her) and Augusten Burroughs "Magical Thinking".

Both are hysterical.

I just finished a Buffett book - Jimmy Buffet that is. The book is A Salty Place and it is incredible. The best he's done so far. The characters walk out of his songs and into the pages of the book. I highly recommend it.

Be agreeable but don't lose your individuality either. I've seen other non greeks marry and it gets too one-sided. I recently read "Super Self" by Charles J. Givens. I also read the short book "Pay It Down" by Jean Chatzky. I heartily recommend either or both.

Just finished Two Little Girls in Blue by Mary Higgins Clark and it was superb! Now I'm reading "Final Victim" by Wendi Corsi Staub, who writes a lot like Mary Higgins Clark and I can't put this book down!

I just finished Night by Elie Wiesel. Very good book about te author's Halocaust survival at age 15. Definately a heartwrenching account.
