I just turned in my dollar coins for dollar bills. The dollar coins are too small and people take them for quarters. Maybe if they were bigger we would use them more. I still have some $2 bills, do they still make them?

I was suprised when I went to the bank to see if they had any two dollar bills (I like to buy them and spend them, people look at you funny sometimes!!!LOL)
They did and I was suprised that they were the current year, I am not sure how long they will make new bills but I was only used to seeing series 1976??? (I think that is the right year) now new $2 dollar bills are being made, someone want to verify for me? |

Ima's right. I had to argue once with a gas station attendant for 15 minutes that my dollar coin wasn't a quarter. I think people need to be educated about the coin before we get rid of the bill.

our dollar coins are gold here. so theres no arguing about it here. the vending machines in plants around here are owned by a policeman. he has his set to take the dollar coins only. theres a changer too, where you put your dollar, five, or ten in and it gives you those gold dollar coins. dave gave a few each to the kids in thier stockings too. they love em and think wow, this is neat, something they havent seen before.

When I took my dollar coins into the bank, the teller was surprised. Said she had never seen them before and didn't know we had small dollar coins. The post office machine gives out dollar coins in change.

I just turned allmy susan b. anthony dollar coins in, they have not gained in value. I like the big old silver dollars from the 20's and earlier. I have about 25 of them.

I like dollar coins just because they go automatically into my change jar.
![]() Personally I like the larger ones, because they're just much nicer looking. Susan B's are low on the list, because they can be confused with quarters. |

I think having an attendant mistake a gold dollar for a quarter says something about the american education system!
But realling I think it is pretty distinctive, trouble is when 'testing' generally people like to keep the 'cool new thing' not use it. we use dolar coinsd (gold) at ren fests, it just seems to fit the part to have a 'bag of gold' (and you can only carry so many so we only spend so much!) |

I wonder how many local highschool students know what one is? (you can bet my homeschooled DS does, and saves them for his renfest purchases)
