Was this a good investment?

I am the owner of four 9046 MS 63 $20 1904-S Liberty coins.

I am new to numismatic investments, will they go up more in value as the price of gold goes up, or will they remain relative to the price of gold.

any help would be helpful.

Wish I could help you. I collected coins years ago, but they never seem to grow in value.

I assumed that. I have a gold coin that I purchased about 25 years ago.

Do you recall which one it is? Just curious to know the year. Is it earlier then 1904?
