Arrow be careful about your phone number

my dad was just here and told me, the stuff from baby sections online, that i have ordered for jake i used his number and they have 30 dollars in voice mail charges this month alone. so be careful about posting your phone number on anything. thats just not right. i get calls all the time too, i dont answer if it dont say a name and phone number. i dont know how they did that, but dad come home for lunch today and stayed til 230 using the phone with the phone company to get them removed. he was very upset with me. so i will no longer be posting a phone number, if its required ill be making one up!

I have our home phone number listed on the do not call list and we now avg one telemarketer call every two weeks or so and when I answer it I always scare them with "how'd you get this number ? I'm on the govt's do not call list" and I always get a "very sorry sir, we'll remove you from our list right away"

There is another reason to worry about giving out your phone # - now that phone #s are portable, they are the new Social Security #. Circuit City, Radio Shack - even your pizza delivery all track you by your phone #.

Anyway, whenever you are asked for your phone #, imagine them asking for your SS# (and, of course, all those grocery store cards, and, and...breath, breath) and then decide if you want them to have it

Sorry, I rant on sometimes

I consider my phone number to be as confidential as my SS # or date of birth. When a website requires it, i make one up since usually, they will never actually need to call you; they'll contact you by email.

make sure your fake phone number is one that's easy to remember for you cus sometimes you'll need to supply it in order to log back in to a site somewhere.

You can change your phone number easier than your SSN
