The most expensive thing in your house
What is the most expensive thing you have in your house (not garage)? I have a painting that was given to me by my grandmother that has been appraised at $5,000. I don't think anything else comes close.

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
I have about a hundred old hummels, they should be worth around $20,000. I would love to sell them because I don't want to collect "stuff" anymore. I also have General Sherman's signature. (The union general that burned Atlanta during the civil war)

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
real worth would be the kids, but actual stiuff would be the new washer.

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
My computer, without a doubt. Two processors of power! It's probably excessive for a lot of people, but I do a lot of graphics/3d/animation work on it, so I need a computer that powerful. I spend a lot when I do buy, but only replace it about every 5 years.

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
sig.other's laptop was around $1100.... (still worth around that, just bought it)
our two bikes were $500 and 650 each when purchased in august.
(don't own the appliances because we rent.) this is not including the new 2006 car, or our older car.

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
Dh informed me last night his computer is worth more than the washer, which is kindof depressing since it is pure luxury. We have three, one can be justified by needing help from online, two umm no nope no justification, three? err yeah well.

I think mine might be one of the more expensive things in our house, too. Computers are up there, followed by living room furniture (if you count the whole set).

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
1. Our greatroom furniture...$5000, genuine leather sofa and loveseat. My husband bought it years before we met, during his bachelor days.
2. My husband's computer...$4000. He does video work on the side, thus he needed a powerful computer and appropriate software for editing and such. He purchased this before we married, though.
3. My engagement/wedding ring.
My husband isn't much of a spender, but on the very rare occasion when he does spend, he spends big!!!

My wedding ring would be first, our computers and tv would be next.

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
Hmm the more I read the more expensive stuff I find!
my engagement ring was more than the computer, and then the wedding rings wern't free either. my furniture is all hand me downs though so I have no idea the origional cost (though current worth is small)

Re: The most expensive thing in your house
The most expensive thing that I own that is currently in my house is my bassoon. I'm sure SO's assorted toys (TV, computers, etc) cost more, though!
