What is your one splurge??
I know personally we are a very frugal family, we buy bare minimums and don't spend unless we have to... we have no house phone only a cell since I have family all over, we usually buy generic unless the name brand is truly better, etc etc but the one thing we could save money on is internet service (we have cable modem) I am not willing to give it up, I would rather pay $30 extra for the speed, guess I am impatient??? we have no cable tv so that saves us $50 there...
So whats your one splurge that you could save alot of money with every month that you just wont part with?

Oh, we have a few I guess . . . but I think the winner has to be Subway's 2 foot longs for $8.99 Sunday deal

2 - Cable. DH loves digital cable and DVR. And, I don't hate it.
ANNNNNDDDD - Eating out. We love to eat out and eat out about once/week. We average almost $250/month eating out (of course a lot of that is dh traveling for work and we get reimbursed for that). A little more is expensive months where we have to travel out of state and pack the car too full for more than the lightest snacks. But, the full truth is that we love to eat out.

Re: What is your one splurge??
a hot shower, I get to take as long of a shower as I want (children interuptions depending) And I do treat it like a splurge, I luxuriate under steaming hot (and I mean HOT) water with all the 'neccessities' done, yet I stay in for a few more minutes reviling in how wonderful it is that I can. (and putting the bills out of mind for the duration)
Oh and I have cable net, but I NEED it .

I tell him I want to go to culinary school so I can learn to cook as good as restaurants do that way I wouldn't want to eat out so much!! lol like thatde work!

Night and Day contacts (the ones you wear thirty days straight) - they cost well over twice what regular contacts cost, but they are SO convenient.

Re: What is your one splurge??
Oh Jodi, I have those too. I love them!
I've been told that you can enzyme them and get at least another 2 weeks out of them. Plus, take them out to clean once/week and you can get an extra week.
There is some study that shows extended wear are the same contacts as daily wear, just slightly thinner, so you can clean them and enzyme them and get them to last longer. I think the night and day are different because they are sooo comfy and moist, but I'm going to try enzyming and cleaning.

MASSAGES.
I treat myself twice a year, usually - but would love to go more often. There is a massage school nearby, and I can get a one hour massage for $30 from a student, or $40 from a graduate. It is an hour of heaven.
That's not my only splurge though...just my favorite!

Re: What is your one splurge??
Definitely cable instead of dialup. I think back to my first job - I had an old XLT. What a dinosaur. It couldnt' do more than one thing at a time and took forever doing it. I remember my first pentium. I couldn't believe how fast it was.
Now dialup seems sooooo slow.
I've only had one pedicure and it was nice. Maybe someday. I think I'd rather have a cleaning lady right now, but maybe someday I can do both ...

Re: What is your one splurge??
er...fish?? I buy the kind that doesn't have any bones, and that one is more expensive, but, having been to the hospital TWICE as a kid to have a piece of fish bone removed from my tonsils made me afraid of fish- eventhough I love it! - so I think it's worth it!
