i think it will happen in the near future, but that will not slow millions of americans from buying it. i personally prefer silver!

I would think that the time to buy gold is when it is $10 an ounce not $500. Why buy something when it is more costly and rising. That plus from what I have read, most ordinary people don't have a clue about when and why to buy gold.

Back couple of years ago when gold was around $300, I thought it was good time to buy and decided to start $20 eagle gold coin collection. Well...I bought one coin but my collection ended with that coin. Wish I had bought more. Now with gold at $500, it may be time to sell my collection. heehee
