How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
A buddy of mine regularly walks around with $1,000 to $2,000 in cash. I get uncomfortable when I have $100 in my wallet. How much cash are you willing to have on you?

Up to $50, but that's only when I've been to the bank or we are traveling. I prefer to carry less than $20 unless I know I'm going some place I will need cash (like the movie theatre today).

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
Up to $200, I guess. I usually get $100 from the ATM every week (for groceries and all spending) but occasionally carry more. Over $200 I get a little uneasy.

I hardly walk around with cash. I did have to go overseas once with $10k in cash and that was scarey.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
Well I use to like to walk around with $200 and found I spent more that way,so i trying to get comfortable walking with $25.00 i found I spend less money that way,it's not easy to adjust to this figure, but it worth the challenge to see how much i can really save.

$0 - $20. I don't usually carry any cash on me. Unless I know I am going somewhere where I will need it.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
On vacation, I take up to $1000. But, I don't keep it all in the same pocket or purse. In fact, last trip we split it up for several family members to carry in hidden places. I had done the traverls check thing, till a few years ago when we got to an area where no one would take them...

Normally, very little. As I know I can use a credit card if I need to or readily access cash if I need to.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
I usually carry 10 to 20 dollars unless I am going somewhere that requires I take out more. I find that the temptation to spend is greater when I have more cash in my pocket!

AMEN!
When i'm at school, I take 6.00. Usually a five dollar bill and mixed change. This method is used to deter the urge for buying soda from the snack machine. (soda costs 1.25 and having one dollar is almost paradoxical - no one spares change in my school lol

I so seldom have much cash on me so I'm not sure. Doubt if I'd feel comfortable carryiing more than $50.

No more than $200. Anything else and I start to worry.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
None. In South Africa I did not carry such things nor wear jewelry that would bring attention. It would mean your life. Now in the States, I do the same. I only carry my check card and leave it at that.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
Usually less than $20. I don't use cash for anything. Sometimes I will have $40-60 on me after a trip to the ATM, but usually not much.
(DH says is sitting beside me and says I have been known to keep the same twenty in my wallet for weeks at a time. Who wants to break a twenty for a buck or two? it's a spending deterrant)

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
On any given day I have $1-$40 in my wallet, usually around $20 though. I've travelled with $150 cash in my wallet before... but I prefer to keep less on hand and use my debit card for any purchases.

I don't keep any money in my wallet, I don't have a wallet I have a man's purse which I keep my credit cards I never pay cash for anything I always use my Discover card and pay it off at my Sears store on the due date, never get a late fee and get to earn more interest on my money in my Emigrant account.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
I'm okay with up to $200 and after that it is split between hubby and me if we are on a trip. Usually I have less than $20 and he carries nothing. We made a business trip in Sept and the guy paid us $4000 in cash that we hid in a bag that we kept our reading books in. Got home in the dark and couldn't find that bag for awhile>insert 5 minutes of panic<in the back of the trailer! Yikes, I don't like carrying around large amounts.

Re: How much cash are you comfortable walking around with?
I don't carry huge amounts of cash with me because I don't want to be tempted to spend it. I honestly don't worry about it being stolen, comes from working in a high security area with a lot of surveillance cameras!
