Default Catsup

I buy my catsup in the large gallon cans. It is so much cheaper that way. In the past, I have always refilled my catsup bottle, then put the remainder of the can into jars filled 3/4, and froze them. Last night I emptied out a dishsoap bottle, washed and rinsed it well, and let vinegar sit in in overnight (to rid any soap taste). This morning I filled it with catsup, and it works great! Now, I will save these and freeze (3/4 full so they wont split) as I open new cans and I wont have to mess with the jars and transerring them to the bottle later. I can just freeze in the containers! I also have some of the little tiny trial size bottles. I think I can use for catsup and mustard in school lunches or for picnics.

Default Re: Catsup

I just saved old syrup and ketchup bottles up until I have enough to use up all that is in the can. I don't freeze it. I just put them either in the back of the fridge if it is almost empty or in the fridge out in the garage.
