Default How often do you shop?

How often do you make a trip to the grocery store? I assume the les often you go, the better since there is less gas used and less chance to buy impulse things. or does it pay to go every week for the sale items? What's the best interval to shop to save money in your opinion?

I hate to shop, so I do it as little as possible. The store is on the way home for DH, so he'll stop by occasionally when we need something. He's a better shopper too, he remembers those things I forget and he pays attention to what's on sale so he'll often get something we don't need *right then* but will need later.

Thursdays, with the occasional trip on a Sunday (or like today cause we were on vacation)

Making it once a week keeps us from running to the store for one little thing, saves on gas and neccessity is the mother of invention and all that, amazing how long I can go without stuff if I need to. (I really should look up how to spell neccessity)

Once a month. I might pick up a half gallon of milk in between. Although I have to make an exception this week, I'm having out of town guests so I need to get breakfast fixings which I don't normally keep on hand.

I do my main shopping once a week on Wed when I can get a sr discount (10%) but approximately every 7-10 days I'd say I also do a little shopping at Costco and the Old Mill for bread and sometimes we run out of milk so I go to Trader Joes for milk; so I guess I really shop 2-3 times a week but it's not the same every week.

I shop on sunday evenings usually every week. However, my borther-in-law showed me this website called peapod or something that will dleiver your groceries to you for pretty cheap so I am thinking about trying that out.

I shop at the commissary every other week. For the necessary bulk items (diapers, lettuce, bread etc.) we go to Costco once a month.

I do a big shop at Costco at the beginning of the month and then usually pick up fresh fruit, vegies, milk and whatever I've forgotten once a week at Superstore. I hate running out of stuff and having to make a special trip to go get it!

I'm averaging about once every two weeks. I tend to get lazy and just keep eating whatever I have on hand, usually ceareal near the end.

There are two of us in the household. I typically find myself at the grocery store two times per week averaging $30 each trip. But I am on grocery store strike until my next paycheck which is Sep 30th, mainly because my bf hasn't been pitching in and I don't think he realizes how much we have been spending on expensive cuts of meat. My goal for October is 2x/month.

Thats tough. I know that my roomates have more frequently become lazy and I come home to find no more left overs. Groceries can be very expensive if you have to buy for more than just yourself.
