I have had such wonderful ideas from all of you. Thank you. Now, for the school lunches I am planning and the crock pot talk my question is: if I want to make pinwheels or pastries and do not have enough to put in a huge oven, can I use a small crock. If so, how do you deal with the moisture issue?

I would probably not use the crockpot for pinwheels and pastries. Instead, make the usual amount and freeze them. Then use the toaster oven to heat/cook the few you will serve at one sitting.
