Default Bugs in pantry...

Literally, we had bugs in the pantry. Little itsy bitsy teeny weeny bugs...they looked like crumbs, except dd noticed them moving on their own. Dh and I threw out everything except a few canned goods...such a bummer.

We'll be going shopping today to start replacing. I'll get crackers, pasta, rice and cereal.

Luckily the huge amounts of flour and sugar that I just bought were in another area of the house or they would have been thrown out too!

Blaaaah...what a pain!

that is why I love big plastic containers for everything..I like tupperware, but anyold airtight thing aught to do...

I just prefer mine to all fit together.. I found bugs in one bag of flour once..nothing else was hit, cause nothign else was 'enterable' 9we since bought a bigger flour bucket)

Be sure to wipe down the cupboard good and consider using an over-the-counter pest control with residule effects.

I opened up my container of oats yesterday and lo and behold, nasty grub-like bugs. YUCK. Everything else is in plastic bags or sealed containers, but I'm checking them out later anyway. I feel your pain.

Sorry to hear you've got 'em too, Kashi.

I do keep everything in containers or plastic bags but I threw it all out anyways. Yuck!

I wiped down the cupboard really well...don't see any little friends today. Thank Goodness!

You both have something called Larder beetles..they produce larvae which look like little grubs. You need to throw out anything that was opened, like cereal, grains etc,,vacume and wash the cupboards, and either store everythin in containers or in the freezer

We had them last year and it was gross! We lost alot of moola throwing everything out..but we are bug free(now iam gonna go check) for now

Yep, summer brings out weevil, cigarette beetles (they love spices, and no, they don't come into the house with cigarettes), all type of critters.

Check your pet food...if it's not sealed, it's one of the first to go!

I scrub down everything with bleach. Haven't had to in a while, but you need to kill all the eggs and remnants...
