Default HillBilly Housewife

So i was surfing the web and came upon this website that some here might find interesting and useful. It is called:

http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/index.htm

She has lists on how to feed a family on 45 dollars and 70 dollars. Thought some of you might be interested.

Her homemade pizza recipe is the best I've found! Love it! Little variation: we like thin crust, so I make two very thin large pizzas out of her one batch of dough. Also, instead of 8oz tomato sauce for one of the sauces I use a regular sized can of crushed tomatoes for the sauce, yummmmmm.

dunno her redcipie, but mine is 1 cup warm water one pack yeast (or 1 cup sourdough starter)
pinch of salt
2 tsp EVOO
2 cups of flour

knead well, add flour or oil as needed (some water if your sourdough starter is thick not runny)

final dough should not stick much to you at all, but also be moldable/stretchable.

I am still having problems viewing the site myself. I was there last week, and she has some 1000 calories a day ideas. They looked pretty good to me. So, if anyone is dieting, and on a budget, that might be a great page to visit

I tried her milkshake recipe (no ice cream in it) and it's good! DD isn't too keen on it, but I think that's because it tastes different (powdered milk in it). Oh well - more for me that way.

Nice ... but that $45 menu gives new meaning to the Dave Ramsey mantra "beans and rice ... rice and beans!" I am a true carnivore, and needs the meat!!!!!
