Cool free bee foods, close to home?

i was thinking.. my frugal neighbor down the street has been out gathering herbs, etc.. then i saw her with dandelions... does anyone have any dandelion recipes?? she said they are good nutrition.. holistic food. you can steam or boil them, add garlic, olive oil and cheese.. you can fry the blosssoms... you can make a salad..add vinegar and oil. pick the young shoots only... the stems are inedible and are milky... i was wondering what other foods are free this time of year, in the wild, so, to speak????

Do a googlesearch for wildcrafting. I know of several people who wild craft on their properties (they have like 20 acres).

We got some free fish (dh cut some) and some free berries (picked by me), I want to go there again, and get more, so maybe if we will have that for every day, we can stop buying meat, fruit and juce, then we can cut our food budget in half. Just a want...
