Crock pot hamburger potato mix with mushroom soup. Probably about $5 for both my dh and me. Ice tea I made with tea bags, at less than 30 cents a glass. And leftover cornbread.

Does reading all these different posts make anyone hungry?

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I thought this would help me, but reading all the entries is just making me hungrier! A bowl of cereal with bananas and coffee. Under $1

Just had a PB&J on a hard roll and water.

The roll was free as was the jelly and water. The Peanut Butter came from an 18 oz jar that cost 99 cents. I had about 1/20th of the jar. So I would guess my lunch cost 5 cents.

How do you count the cost of leftovers? We had a deli tray and a veggie tray for New Years (super coupon deal), then leftovers Monday - grilled sandwiches, Tuesday - open face hot beef and mushroom sandwiches with free gravy mix, Wednesday - broccoli mushroom swiss quiche and a ham and cheese quiche. Tomorrow, stir fry of veggies and some of the meat; Friday, remaing deli turkey is going into fresh manicotti using up the nonfat ricotta from the dips, or else turkey divan with any remaining broccoli. Some leftovers may be frozen for soups. All repurposed (leftovers).

Bagel sandwich.

Bagel: $.55
couple slices of Turkey: $.75 of turkey (5.99/lb, maybe used 2-3oz of turkey?)
1 Slice of Swiss Cheese (bought 1/4lb for less than $2?)

Large cup of coffee, made at my apartment. (Super cheap, $6.99/pound)... I don't know how much that translates to for two cups of coffee.

A peanut butter sandwich made with two slices of homemade bread (potato water instead of milk) a couple of tablespoons of 99 cent peanut butter (18 oz jar), free diet margarine and a free beer. Cost, maybe 10 cents

I had the leftovers from my husband's dinner last night. He got chicken salad for $7.50 and never can eat all the chicken. I got a burger and pasta for my dinner and I bring it home for my dog to eat.

Burritos:

1/2 pack soy crumbles - $1.25
Homemade salsa from my mom - free
Cheese - about $.50 maybe?
Spanish style rice - can't remember, but we bought a box of it at Trader Joe's. Maybe about $2.50? I don't know. (We have half leftover, so let's say $1.25.)
Half can of refried beans - couldn't be more than about $.50
4 tortillas- probably about $1

Baby spinach (organic) - entire bag cost about $4 I think. We had less than a fourth of the bag. Call it $.75.

Water with lemon slices - lemon was free

I never really have exact figures for these things, but this is close. Comes to about $5.25 for the three of us. No dessert this evening, but I may go make some mint hot chocolate in a bit - yum.
