How often do you eat out?

We don't eat out and maybe get carryout once a month. Life is hectic but with my being home all day I do have a chance to thaw things and cook nightly. I'm in contact with hubby via email so ask him daily what he would like that night, usually giving him a few choices

By the time chores are done and we're in for the night neither of us feel like going back outside.

Well I stayed home sunday night, but only because the restaurant is closed on Sunday night. Our buddy, Mr. Miami, bugged us again last night at the restaurant. I wonder if I should put a do not disturb sign on our table.

I don't eat out at all. I only did once this year and it was because my sister-in-law had a birthday party at a restaurant.

Ate out again last night. Mr. Miami bothered us again, on valentine's day. I have about decided to stay home tonight to avoid him. I am marinating pork chops right now.

I live with my fiance, and both of us work full time. (He in the Navy.) I hate to use it as an excuse, but we are home so little. It's just easier to grab a bite out - and so we do. If I had to guess, it's probably 5-7 meals a week! I know it's bad...but we do try to use coupons, I order water, etc. I've thrown out so many groceries in the past that I often wonder how much money I was really saving back then... We typically eat out about three times during the week (or order in) and the rest on the weekend. This includes lunches, of course. I try to eat at home or bring my lunch as much as possible.

We need to be more disciplined, and plan ahead. This is easier said than done. I tutor math about 2 days a week, and he goes to the gym for 2 hours a DAY. We can curb our minimal lunches, but need to focus on a dinner solution.

Has anyone tried Rachel Ray's 30-minute meals book???

We eat out at least 2 times a week. On the weekends, it is a good time to really enjoy each other. BUT, that's only if we've menu planned. If we're particularly bad, we'll eat out 5-10 times a week.

Thanks frugal farm wife, I added the money to my challenge money. him&her, that is my downfall. I love going out on a date to a restaurant with my husband every night. I don't work, so I hate sitting home at night staring at a tv.

There is a couple on the oprah show that eat every meal out to the tune of $100 a day. She doesn't cook or do dishes. Her cupboard is almost empty. They use plastic plates and forks so she does not have to cook, plastic glasses too.

Well I am not getting any better. I did offer to stay home Tuesday night but dh said, oh let's go!

Now I have had lunches out 2 days in a row. I am feeling really guilty about that. My poor husband is having beenie weenie for lunch! Lunch was $3.50 today for a plain hamburger and water, but I did enjoy the nice gals I was with.

I try not to eat out too often, but living alone tends to be a problem for me. I ate out last Sat, as it was my bday, and had a good burger, a few beers, and a great concert! Did it again on Weds, as it was the day before payday and I had no leftover dinners available in the house. I have plenty of groceries now, but am thinking about going out for breakfast tomorrow as I haven't done that in months! Would be nice to have some eggs and read the sunday paper....or maybe I'll just go get the paper, come home, and slow scramble some eggs with toast and spinich....
I usually eat out 1-2 times a week, usually lunches when I'm running behind at work, and dinners only if I have a gift card...which I still have 11 on to eat at Applesbees!!! (too bad it doesn't cover beer)....

When I was going thru a divorce I never cooked just for me. Too many leftovers. If I was single again, I think I would still eat out a lot.

When I was working I always bought lunch. Now I have a sandwich at home with coleslaw ( cabbage and carrots last well). If I'm in town and get hungry I go to the supermarket and get some rolls from the bakery and some fruit.

As I have said, we eat out every night but sunday. It is more of a social thing for us, rather than just the act of eating supper. tonight we stay home, so went to the grocery store for steaks and something to go with it. I spent $24 for supper tonight and only spend $16 when we go out every night. I know you can eat home a whole lot cheaper than that,but that is what my husband wanted.
