How do you spend your weekend?
How do you spend your weekend?
I haven't been very creative about my weekends and I have recently fallen into a couch potato rut of staying home to clean and watch Hallmark movides. What kinds of ways do you spend your weekend opn a limited budget?

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
oh well this weekend the budget is out the window, Ren fest is in town . (two tickets 20$ plus dinner there another 20$, plus some shopping while there...)
But normally, we like to go to the park, or the free nature center, or to friend houses (tonight games, only cost is something I make, any suggestions, I am out of sugar!)
We also usualy have errends to run, which kills time and I try to squeeze in something fun while at it, like goofing off at the mall while looking for something for christmas (no luck on the something .) Course one of my 'weekend days' is Thursday, so that makes needing a post office a bit easier and stuff.
I think window shopping is a lost art , so we teach it to the kids, like never buy anything when out with them just cause they like it. (though we do get ideas for christmas and stuff)

Putter around the house. Go for a walk. Read a book. Have a cup of tea and watch the sun set. Write something. Go hiking. Go fishing. Go to the library. Be decadent and go out and have a latte(not too often as you don't want to mess up your diet.)
Call up a friend. Write someone a hand written five page letter! There are so many things to do if you wish.

I usually work all weekend. This weekend since I am in between 2 jobs I had a garage sale I felt I needed to do something to be productive this weekend. When I start my new job I will be working weekends still.

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
We've been kayaking all summer, which is mostly free, except for sometimes you have to pay an entrance fee to put in the boats at a state park. we barbeque at home, but sometimes eat out. less often, we walk. check out yard sales. I NEVER window shop as it just reminds you of all the nice things you don't have and creates temptation needlessly.
September was a great month for me; total expenses were just $1800 (single person), and anytime it's under $2,000, i'm doing well.

Tai Chi class, a little housework, occasionally a little shopping but never spend much, cooking, eating, surfing the net, watching TV or a movie, relaxing, church on Sunday morning, cooking, eating, more relaxing.

Couple more ideas: volunteering, farmers markets, craft fairs and flea markets (just to look of course ), organizing/cleaning, having a garage sale, selling some items on eBay, planning a future vacation, bike riding, amateur photography.

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
- "Sit in front of the computers all day long" - according to my DW
- Play with our DD (one yr old) - she's a lot of fun!
- Work on the cars or help friends with theirs
- Pick up the house, vacuum etc
- Get a meal or two to go since we don't want to cook on the weekends
And probably some other mudane stuff, basically we're home bodies. We're hopping that by this time next year we might be able to take a trip or two with the DD - Hawaii etc

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
My parents laugh at me because I have my Saturday morning "walk". This consists of me walking around BestBuy looking at all the things I am too cheap to buy. LOL Or if I do want to buy something I go to NewEgg and get it. Other then that lately I have been going to stores getting ideas for the new apartment I will have on the west coast in the next few weeks.

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
I usually work some of the weekend, but we've been volunteering at music venues, so we get in for free. We hike, rent videos, and we belong to a "papering" service where we can get tickets in NYC for like no money.

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
My husband ususally works on the weekends and I like to visit his job sites. I watch part of the braves games and walk on my treadmill. I would love to go dancing every sat. night like we use to, but no place to go around here. (anymore) I love to go to parties and have cook outs.

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
My Hubby aslo works an odd shift so our weekends are Sun-Wed. We usually do something around the house, especially with spring here we've got lots of stuff to do outside as well as the usual inside.
We usually go fishing in warmer weather or go to the free zoo & beach a few counties south of here.
Otherwise if we're not doing something @ home we are window shopping for ideas.

Re: How do you spend your weekend?
I own a catering business and I'm also a part time/freelance minister and wedding officiant, so usually, the weekends mean work in one form or all three...... I love my work however. Sunday night and Monday I'm usually off, and I'm working on my house.
