My garbage disposal is starting to smell funny. The odor isn't strong yet, but I was wondering what I can do to get rid of it before it does start smelling bad. Any suggestions?

It may be that some gunk has just started to accumulate. Throw some ice cubes into the garbage disposal and turn it on. That should loosen up all the gunk and take away the smell

I have this problem especially in the summer months and placing coffee grounds down the disposal has always masked the smell.
I had never heard about the ice cubes before and tried that (thank you midnight!) last night. I woke up this morning and it seems to have taken care of my problem so hopefully I won't need coffee grounds anymore. |
