Re: WifeSwap Wants Frugal Families
$20k for 2 weeks? Wow, we could get a downpayment on our house in no time.
I wonder if they're still looking. I don't have that much vacation, but maybe my bosses would understand.

Re: WifeSwap Wants Frugal Families
Hmmm... when I saw Wife Swap in the title I thought about a different money saving tip.
BTW, I have seen the show and don't they get $50 to spend on the other family (and the other family spends the same ammount of money on them)?

Have you ever seen that show? It is humiliating in my opinion. The question is it worth being humiliated to get $20,000?

I have seen bit and pieces. I don't think I would want to be part of it.

Re: WifeSwap Wants Frugal Families
I would imagine from the bits I have seeen that they want an extream family, someone who not only doesn't flush but better yet has an outhouse or something. (among other things) that way they can trade with a family with ALL the newest, bestest everything, that wastes more food than Africa eats in a wekk or something.

Re: WifeSwap Wants Frugal Families
So the question I have is it says:
Families Chosen receive a $20,000 Honorarium
Honorarium to me sounds like they give money to charity in your name. Am I wrong on this?

It pains me to think of the children involved in this bizarre show. I would never put my kids through that, especially to be publicized in front of the world. If consenting adults want to broadcast their lives to the world, fine...but do the kids have a choice? A five year old does not have a true understanding of what this entails.

Agreed. $20,000 is not worth putting your family through that. I work in the production field and I can tell you that it will be edited to make the frugal family look like nuts. I already catch a lot of flak from friends and family whenever I try to save a few bucks here and there.
