very crazy... honestly i mostly just use my brown leather purse... my mom bought it used at a yard sale for $10... it is a brand name Coach bag but since we bought it used it was cheap... i'm actually thankful for those that spend lots more than i ever would and then let go of their items affordably at yard sales, which lets me enjoy a luxury (i love the feel of their leather) i would never pay retail for because i can't see myself paying 300 either or even that $20 to rent a bag... that said, i love my bag, use it every day and am so glad i got the chance to have it...

I would never pay more than $20 for a bag. I don't even like carying a bag with me. When I go somewhere, I would just grab my keys with little wallet attached to it. I don't carry any kind of make up and stuff with me, so why would I need a bag. When I take my kids with me, I have to take the diaper bag, but it will end soon. I just like to put my keys in my pocket, and clip the cell on my pants. Usually I keep my coupons in the car and take them out only when I am at the grossery store or to add some. Carrying purse is very inconvenient for me. I have one at home, I use it maybe like once a year or so.

Ah, but there is a huge difference between buying a bag that you love and will use forever, and renting one for a few weeks because it goes with an event and outfit. Probably rent the outfit too LOL. I have a few of those designer bags, gifts from MIL. Lots of beads. Even a gucci brief case...that won't hold more than a few SHEETS of paper. Give me an expandable hold everything, or a tiny fanny pack. I have donated several of the beaded bags to charity auctions, others seem to like them.

but there is a huge difference between buying a bag that you love and will use forever.... that is true.... i love that macy's commercial where she comes home and puts her shoes in the shoe box and then marks the box one more time... something like $60 / 20 uses = $3 a use.... i really believe it's better to do that although i still wouldn't pay retail... mine looks more like $1 / 20 uses = 0.05 a use. =)... i really, really love garage sales...

I admit I have purchased Liz Claiborne before, but I go to their outlet store, find one on clearance and use my 25% anything coupon. I think last time I paid 10.50. Any other name brand bags I have purchased in yard sales. A Gucci for $2, etc.... Right now, I use a plain brown viny purse. I used my Kohls gift card for it after Christmas. I paid maybe $20? Will look at Liz next time I go to the outlet!

Funny, I just looked back at what I wrote on this thread in April....and I still have the same ol bag....and it is still going strong!!

I guess we all have choices in life....and the world is a much more interesting place because no two of us are alike!!

For me, it is NOT about high priced things....it is about free time to do what I love...which is time with my family.

Designer handbags can be confiscated by the customs officials!!!! My mother once won a departmental sweepstake and got an Louis Vuitton bag The custom lady looked at the bag and decided to confiscate it because she thought it was a fake.
