Default sunscreen

I have a bunch of different bottles of sunscreen all of which seem to be half full. Can I mix them together (they are all different brands and strengths). Some are also rather old. Does sunscreen not work after a period of time?

I won't use sunscreen more than 1 year old, personally. Lots of skin cancer legacy!

I've heard that "one year" rule from a lot of different sources this summer. I'm pretty fair skinned, so I don't risk it.

Another alternative would be to call the manufacturer's help line/customer service folks with the bottles in hand, read them the codes and see what they say. Prolly the safest way...

Most bottles have experation dats on them- while I don't think mixing brands would be an issue- using old will not protect your skin the way it should. Skin cancer has affected alot of people in my family- so I am pretty cautious on checking the dates oin the bottle myself, HTH! - Heidi
