Thumbs up Shopping Guide, What to Buy in July/August

Hey everyone

I found this site when I was surfing the 'net tonight that has a list of what sales are happening usually during the months of the year. Just so I don't get in trouble, the credit goes to savingdimes.com (cool site BTW). Here's what they say you should find deals on during this and next month:

JULY
Air Conditioners
Summer Sports Equipment
Sportswear
Craft Supplies
Sodas, Hotdogs, Hamburger Meat, Condiments

AUGUST
White Sale - Linen and Towels
BBQ and Patio Equipment
Back to School Supplies
Bathing Suits
Fresh Fish and Vegetables

I guess school supplies is a given. I love stocking up on stuff for my home office around this time

Good luck!

Sam

Speaking of Linens. Has anyone ever used towels from the Westin? OMG they are the best towels I have ever used. So tempted to buy a couple but they are 40 bucks a pop. Yikes!

If they are available in your area, try Hilasal towels...they are made in El Salvador, but I have seen them in the US..don't know whether they are expensive ther or not, but they are GOOD...suffice it to say that the ones I have were given to me for my wedding (12 years ago!) and they are still fluffy!!...we even have a couple around the house that belonged to my grandama!! (who died 12 years ago!)...they are super-absorbent and come in beautiful colors...
They also do beach towels in the most beautiful designs!! <end of commercial>

I will check them out. Thats what I loved about the Westin Towels. They were so thick. But you know, if they last that long, I think they are good value and can still be bought by us frugal people.
