My 11 year old Rubbermaid trashcans are in great shape. Their lids, however, are not. I wrote to Rubbermaid and told them just that. I also asked how I could purchase new lids rather than throw away perfectly good cans and start all over.
UPS delivered a box to my house. Inside were two brand new lids! No charge. Thank you Rubbermaid. |

When I company does something like that for me, they get my future business.

That is really cool!
I had a small Rival Crock pot I bought last summer. One of the handles had started to crack. I had checked to see if there was a recall and there was not. I emailed Rival and within 24 hours received a notice asking if at all possible could I send some photos by email to show it. When I did, I received a nice note telling me they would replace the outer heater within two weeks. Well, less than a week later UPS brought me a package and it was a whole new Crock Pot. I know I will be buying more Rival products after that! |

Isn't it wonderful when companies appreciate our business and want to make us happy?

I'm glad someone brought this up.
A friend of mine who is rather cheap, yes, I said cheap, could never understand why I would prefer to pay more for certain items since she knew I was thrifty. It made no sense to her. I then explained that if you were to buy a product with a lifetime guarantee, you'd be well ahead instead of buying the cheapest, worst made product that would need to be constantly replaced. As much as she HATED to spend more on a item, she did come to realize the value of what I had taught her. And, she even used it on occasion. In fact, I helped create a monster. Her husband would do the laundry, and he was not "gentle" with it. Her bras would get frayed and discolored and since she bought bras with "guarantees" she'd state her dissatisfaction with the wear of the product. I can't even tell you how many times she'd return, wear, wash, return a bra for a free replacement. |

that's why we use tupperware too... jansport backpacks the same too i think... i also bought some of the super expensive cutco because it's got a great guarentee and i had an employee discount (i worked for them one semester in college)... pricey but worth it 20-30 years down the line...
from my own personal experience buying cross stitch kits (from when i first started) i like the gold collection and other products by dimensions... i've bought several kits from them and they are great because if i ever ran out of a thread color or needed beads or used the pattern so much it became worn and unusable i could contact them with the kit ID # and what i needed and they would mail it to me... in fact, for a large XS i did that took me several years of toting around i went through more than one pattern and they were gracious enough to keep sending them... (they're rather large for me to photocopy)... in this day and age i think people really do appreciate it when a company will go that extra mile...thanks for letting us know about the rubbermaid... one more company that i will be sure to patronize more often... |

Jansport makes a great pack. I still have my Jansport D3 that I bought in 1979.

Jansport DOES have a replacement policy!!! If your backpack breaks from "normal" wear and tear, they'll replace it. We had the one with the rubber bottom (from a while ago) and the rubber started separating from the fabric. They sent us a new one without any problems.

OK, I have great company I want to give kudos! I bought a bottle of yeast from ACH Foods -- Fleischmann's -- about a month ago. I went to use it and the yeast apparently was worthless. I emailed the company with the code and told them my problem. This was over the weekend. Early Monday morning I received an email asking me if I had used it in a bread machine or tried making bread by hand, but either way, there would be a coupon to replace the bottle of yeast. Within three days, there is was in my mailbox! I was very pleased at the speed as well as the courtesy displayed!

I did not know that Jansport had such good quality and the guarantee. I'm in the market for a backpack.
I saved the label and reciept from a purchase of Rubbermaid containers about a year and a half ago, but now I can't find them. One has a leak. Do you think a letter or email might suffice? A barely related factoid: the crutches I have on loan from my pharmacy have Rubbermaid lables on them. Kealina, or anyone---what is cutco? Knives? |

Cutco is cutlery
Rubbermaid...I just emailed them, and they provided two new wheel assemblies AND a check to cover replacement for brand new cans, just in case I couldn't fix them. I had posted a list of their warrantied products and info last Fall, but I think it's been deleted. If you need help contacting them, let me know. Or...Jeffrey, isn't contacting Rubbermaid on our manufacturers list at www.grocerycouponguide.com? |

After Hurricane Rita, the Clorox company (my hubby's company makes chemicals for their products) sent every employee in four plants in this area a BIG bagful of products--about fifteen large-sized items from cleaners like pine sol and 409 to boxes of garbage bags. I haven't even begun to use them up even a year later. I already had on hand cleaning supplies for the storm, but I was blown away (pun intended) by their generosity.
