I guess I'd try to avoid that alternative, but maybe that's just me. I think I'd try a cup of vinegar before the dishwashing soap. I blogged about "The vinegar book" recently. Check out the previous posts in my blog (link below) and you should be able to find it if you're interested.

I've done that for years! And a laundry bar for dishes also works well. I've also heard of people using a dishwashing detergent like Dawn as a shampoo; it made the hair REALLY shiny and removed all hairspray residue.

Anyway, you use what you have. It all sorts out in the end.

I usually use the shampoos that no one likes as an alternative, but do try to avoid it when possible.

?? I have tried dishsoap in the washer and laundry soap in the dishwasher before. Both times I cut the amount down to about 1/3 and still ended up with bubbles everywhere-looked like something Lucille Ball would have done....

To all the moms! be cautious using that stuff with your children baths. Bubble bath has been know to cause yeast infections. my sister is highly sensitive. I am not but I hate bubble baths!
