Is this true?

Haha. Probably not. The drain pipes from a shower is made from the same plastic that is used for a toilet, so it should hold up just the same.

On an older home that uses metal piping, there may be an issue with accelerated corrosion from the acidic nature of urine, but it would take decades to notice anything.

I was mainly just joking.

Ha-ha. I live in one of those older homes. The bathtub and the toilets have the same hulking drain pipes.

I like how everyone assumes that the water is running during toocheap's morning ritual.

I just hope he doesn't do it when he's taking a bath...

If you're that hard up for the $0.10 of water savings, just go back to nature and use a tree.

I'm just waiting for the next installments:
-I raid my friend's couches for coins
-I don't wash my clothes
-I installed a porta-potty in my back yard

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Water math: (based on Dallas rates: Welcome to the City of Dallas, Texas -Dallas Water Utilities)
$6.28 per 4000 gallons
$0.00157 per gallon
Gallons in a water efficient toilet 1.6 (A Water Resource - Water Use Chart)
Savings per day (rounded to nearest penny) $0.00
Savings per month $0.08

After an entire year of doing this every day, you could almost save $1. Congratulations.

I tried the multi-tasking, washing my hair while I peed, but then had to spend probably an extra 3 gallons of water washing my legs, the walls and the ceiling. I came to the conclusion it is probably best to take matters in hand.

Now reusuable rinseable toilet paper...that is an idea I can get behind!

Same here. Most people who lose electricity still have water. You and I have additional problems.

Am I too cheap?
No I would not say you are cheap. Now, if you start doing #2 in there, I'd say your cheap...and crazy.

...sorry, could not resist.
