Being a swimmer, I take a shower about once every 3 days.

Every day, sometimes twice a day. Soap and water are cheap enough!

I used to "have" to shower daily when I was working, but being out of work, i started skipping the shower if I knew I was going to be home all day and not seeing anyone. So I've been experimenting to find what the optimal time was for me., and while it used to be that my scalp would get all itchy if I didn't shower at least every other day, I find I can go 4 days without showering and feel fine. I don't smell, maybe cus it's winter and I'm not exerting myself, and my hair actually looks better becus it tends to get dried out.

Now that I've gotten used to this routine, I think back about my daily shower days and think gosh, that would take so much time now.

americans have always been hung up on daily showers; Europeans, not at all.

Some people here say they shower TWICE a day? Clearly, there's no need for that and it's clearly excessive. Sounds ridiculous to me.

At the moment I don't have to pay for water and I'm sure when I move out with my boyfriend into an apartment I won't have to either but when I do have to start paying for water I plan on using a $1 jug of bottled water from the dollar store (way cheaper than a shower costing an average of $2 each) to sponge bathe myself everyday and wash my hair once a week. It's actually good for your hair to wash it less. I am part of LHC (Long Hair Community) learning how to grow my hair longer and washing it less is one of the keys. I just think it's dirty and nasty to go longer than 2 days without showering / bathing kinda gross in my opinion. I think there are way better ways to save on water than that. It's still gross but I like the "if it's yellow be mellow, if it's brown flush it down" idea better

So, are you planning on this 1 gallon to last you a week or 1 gallon a day? Because if you use 1 gallon a day, you would be cheaper to use your regular water, which, if you look at a water bill is much less than $1 a gallon.....
