I had some leaking taps and a mate leant me the equipment to fix it. So instead of a big plumbers bill I only had to buy the washers.

i'll bet you don't pay for air. unless you go to one of those fancy oxygen bars. or someone in your home might be on oxygen, in which case i have firmly wedged my foot in my mouth

Funny that! My dear F-I-L lived with us before he passed away. He was on oxygen, but before I called the home health company to come pick up the equipment I had myself a breath or two.

Now, now - just a little 'nip!

I had heard Kirstie Allee (sp?) talking about it once as an aid to the skin, so I had to give it a little nostril test! I'm not sure how it works but hey, it was worth a shot...but shuckydarns, the wrinkles were still there!

My morning coffee when I'm on the road.

I find it far more relaxing to stop at a park and have my coffee before heading into the day's meetings than to stop at a shop and be amongst all the noise. I take my flask and can stop at any interesting place along the way. Since it is a ninety minute trip many mornings I get to see lots of interesting places.

The bonus is that I arrive at the meetings refreshed.

How to relax and enjoy your budget

I don't buy the town trash bags that are required where I live ($1.50/bag). DH got permission to throw our trash in the dumpster at work. They said they have to pay a set price for pick up 2x's a week whether it is full or not!

I buy the the cheapy trash bags for the large kitchen trash can and use grocery bags for the bathrooms and baby's room.

Haven't bought a trash bag in over a year. I use all the bags I get forced on me at the store.

Default things i don't pay for

papers - you can normally find loads on the train or bus!

knives and folks and sauces - as they have them at all shops for free

When i was a student we didn't hardly ever buy milk, sugar, sauces and salt and pepper as you can get it all in one go from resteraunts. I am not quite as bad now, but it was a great way of saving money.

paper - from work
diary - from work
pens - from work

if you ever work from home then you are entitled surely to take some of this home as you wouldn't normally be paying for it. Obviously when it is at home you will end up using it for your personal stuff too though!

With the exception of getting papers from the bus or train I would say that all of the above is considered stealing. If you are taking more then you can use in a restaurant then you are stealing. If you are taking items from work to use at home for personal use then it is stealing. It is one thing to be frugal but taking something to save money is NOT frugal.

I don't pay for DVDs.
