Vacations! We travel at least 4 times a year, and I don't mind doing it up in style when the opportunity presents.

We enjoy it so much--it's a big part of the reason I'm frugal at home!

My husband and I work in the same building, so we pack a lunch and eat in the cafeteria together most days.
The lease frugal thing we do is take lunch to the mid high school ever two weeks to eat with our teen & her friends in the cafeteria on our day off. It isn't that feeding our kid is the problem, but that we feed all the teens (10-15) when we come. It's a draw on the pocketbook, but nice to see all my daughters' friends.
Her friends think her parents are "the bomb."

Probably the least frugal thing I do is to patronize a commercial laundry for my shirts and khaki slacks. They do a nice job, and I can indulge my fetish for laundry starch.

The least frugal thing I do, and the one I feel guiltiest about, is keeping the air conditioner at 68 in the summer. Of course I make up for it in winter! 55 bothers me not!

Wow, 55 in the winter. I keep mine at 60 and my husband complains, so I turn it up for him at night.

Yes, that is why I chose the polar bear as my icon. I love winter! To me, wearing a turtle neck and sweater, bundling in a blanket and sitting in a window seat with a hot cup of cocoa and a good book is a very good way to spend a lazy afternoon.

I'm considering purchasing electric matress pads for the little Eskimos in my life though.

I have to keep an heating pad for my little dog to sleep on and an electric blanket for my garage sleeping dog. At least it helps with your heating bill!

Run my electric Vornado fan in my face ALL NIGHT LONG! I Love It - and a whole plethora of other things would go by the wayside before that goes.

If the fan keeps you cool at night, then you are not using the a/c and that is saving you money. At night I have two fans on me as well the ceiling fan is also on, but the a/c is set up at 80 degrees at night. So I figure I am saving money.

We all need to take a long hot shower every once in a while. Figure it this way, if you are taking a long hot shower then you are saving money by not doing something else that would cost you a lot more money.

Yes room service is nice but I bet this is not an everyday thing. By getting room service this is saving you body enery and letting you get more rest. I figure either way you are saving yourself either body energy (rest) and you are giving yourself a treat that is not an everyday thing.

Nope - the AC is on as well. I save other places, but have to be cool. Sweating is against my religion.

I have to be cool at night too and love the fans on me, dh hates the fans on him. Since I am the only here during the day I have the fans on in the livingroom and the a/c set up high, now when I am taking a nap I like to have the a/c on lower but not that much lower.

Driving my suburban-(gaswise) but, its a necessity for where I live and my lifestyle. I have to have 4x4 for the winters here. I have to have something with a tow package, for moving hay and pulling the camper. The suburban will hold all the kids, and groceries, a pick up won't. But, its paid for, its a 99, so the insurance is lower, and I figure its cheaper than having a second vehichle which would be more taxes and more insurance.

I will only use Bare Minerals cosmetics. It is pretty expensive, but definately the best make up I have ever used.

I've just started using it, too! I use this and good haircare products cos I have a hard type of hair to style. But since I keep it short and sassy, a little product goes a long, long way. Also, I do pay good for the cut and stuff. My gal is a magician and worth it.

well, it's not an issue now, but i happily pay dearly to keep my AC on. where i'm at, not running the AC invites insane humidity and possibly mold/spore issues, so i guess in a way it's responsible seriously, though, i keep it *gulp* at 70 or below in the summer. nice thing about an older house w/ thick plaster walls is that my highest bill was still only 154!

it works out well n the winter, though: heated mattress pad and a wood stove, and my electric bills are nothing until may. actually just built our first fire in the new house night before last: it was 60 niside and DH was chilly. amazingly, i did not quote my father & tell him to "put some clothes on!"
