Yeah...I have an impulsive eating style, I love nuts and I usually eat the whole jar or at least half jar at once when I buy them.. ha ha

If you eat low Glycemic Index foods, or foods that have high fiber, you will not crave as badly as you do now. The thing is junk food is high in Glycemic Index, which means they impact your blood sugar violently. Your body will be forced to deal with the blood sugar by releasing hormones in the blood to control it, as a result, the blood sugars are gone, but too suddenly. Your body will react to the low blood sugar and signal you to crave for more foods.

Low Glycemic Index foods, however, provide stable blood sugar and you will not feel hungry or craving so much anymore.

It takes time to get used to the low GI foods, and most low GI foods are vegetable and fruits.

Also, the Dollar Tree has an incredible line of chocolates! The Espresso Cups with Dark chocolate are the best and they are super-cheap.

Oh, also, stock-pile the goodies when they're on sale. I do that with chips.
Oh yes, I need to check out dollar store for some cheap snacks. hah.

I generally buy chips at Aldi-best price/oz I have found.
I buy shelled sunflower seeds at the $ store-again best $/oz I have found.

Been avoiding buying any ice cream (BIG weakness).

I plan to buy a plastic container at $ store this week for all the nail stuff littering a counter top in my kitchen.

ETA: I gave in. It was SOOO damp cold here late Thur afternoon that I did turn on my heat. It got down to 33 here overnight. However, I believe this is the latest I have waited in years.

I will definitely need to give it a try for sunflower seeds.

So far, I have a lot of snacks at home, like the 100 calories popcorn, cereals, crackers, diet soda, cheese strings and no nuts (tried to stay away from it because I had the tendency to eat the whole jar of pecans, cashews, and my all time favorite macadamia nuts!)

I know I have the binge eating style for sweets so now I only allow myself to purchase $1 worth of chocolate each time I go to grocery store

Hey there,
I crave sweets too. I pretty much dont buy this stuff when I grocery shop. If I keep it in the house, I eat it ALL. I cant buy a bag of small chocolates and eat just one, Ill keep diving in the bag, so thats a no go for me. I often just make a store run when Im having a craving, since I dont keep it in the house all the time it takes effort to go get it.

In the other hand I do shop at the 99 cent stores. Go through the candy isles, they DO get some fancy chocolate bars now and then but you have to comb thru the isle to find them. I like Dark Chocolate too, Trader Joes Chocolate is a bit cheaper too then the regular stores.

I was buying Cliff Bars, they grain type bars and the ones with chocolate chips in them as an alternative to the junk I like to eat. Im not bad with chips, but I sure like my chocolate, and pastries, cookies, cupcakes! But I typically have them when I go out to eat somewhere and not in my home.

I have to agree with the pecans. Health and they taste great! Especially if you crack them yourself!

The more junk food you eat the more you tend to crave it.

Nuts are good and filling.

Sometimes we get trailmixes.

We get blue organic corn chips but use those as more of a meal: chips and salsa, nachos made with the chips.

We also eat whole grain crackers.

Popcorn is good (plain air popped, no butter, some light salt).

Bags of potato chips and freetos and doritos would be eaten constantly so we just don't even buy them.

Hahaha this is a great idea! I will have to use this. I like to say that chips and snacks are my kryptonite. I could easily go through a bag of chips (esp the lime and chili corn chips)in one sitting. I guess my only concern about keeping them in the trunk, is that once I have my shoes on and standing at edge of the bumper, what's to stop me from grabbing 1,2 or 3 bags? Its just....so tempting...

My trick is to just avoid the chip aisle completely and not not have any at home to begin with. Cut off the temptation at it's source!

Have you checked out Aldi's? They have a great selection of snacks that are all natural, and cheap. Their bag of tortilla chips is only $1.29. They also have baked potato chips that taste better than the name brands. When buying cheaper products, always make sure that they dpn't contain trans-fat. That stuff will kill you. I have rad the labels, and Aldi's brand products contain no trans fat.

Of course, the other thing is to explore why you go on binges like that.
