I buy cilantro and Italian parsley regularly and end up having to throw away more than I would like. I've tried freezing it but it doesn't come out right for me and seems to lose its aroma and flavor.
Any good tips would be appreciated. ![]() |

More than prolonging the life I used them up faster:
If I use cilantro for one recipe, I make a point to add them to soups and salads I eat during the week. I am also looking into juicing... I have not try it, but I am told you can dried them up. |

Grow your own. It is cheap and easy to start a little windowsill herb garden. Plant the 3 or 4 or 6 herbs you use most commonly and you'll always have a fresh supply and you'll save a bunch of money.

I place the bundles of cilantro and parsley in a large coffee cup that has two inches of water in it. Then I loosely place a plastic bag over it and the whole thing goes in the refrigerator.

Daylily: I'll try the later and will try to make cook more dishes that can use them. There is so much difference between fresh and dried although I will use the dried variety.
I defintely am going to attempt to grow it and use it as I need it. |
