Default Internet TV, without PC?

Hello again
Broken arrow, this is a different challenge...

I connected my PC to my TV on the office area and I am able to see internet TV.

The details here:Internet TV

I have a second TV on the masters which is currently just connected to a DVD player.

I am told that my options for this second TV are:

1) Buy a blue ray player ($200) and have Netflix and some other providers available. I find this restrictive because I cannot go out to the internet, and I have not decided between doing netflix or staying with totally free internet TV streaming.

2) Buy a netbook or a cheap PC ( around $300) and basically do the same setup of the first TV, but wirelessly. The problem here is that I am told wirelessly the performance might not be anough for streaming TV and I'll get a lot of frozen picture. I am already getting some of that on the wired connection.

3) Same options (netbook or cheap PC) but throw a cable from the room that has the modem to the other room so I have wired connection with better performance.

I am for now voting for the long cable and the netbook option. With basic cable at $40 I will recover my investment is less than a year.

What do you think, any other options?

You can have all kinds of set up to accomplish this. The only limitation is your budget. What is your budget again?

For example, if $200 wasn't out of your budget range, there's this snazzy new Boxee that's coming that I thought was pretty sweet. It won't be out until Q2 of 2010 though, but just look at it! As a slimmed down PC though, it's still capable of letting you surf the web.

If all you care about is only streaming Netflix, Roku sells a streaming Netflix box. I'm only mentioning it because the box costs around $79 to $99.

Again, I'm not certain what your budget is, but these are the cheapest option I can think of. Otherwise, sure, just throw another cheap PC on that one, and it should do it.

I would consider moving your pc.

I canceled our cable / satellite to help us get out of debt. I hooked up a PC to my TV in the living room, and now we stream netflix as well as the major networks from their sites. If your tv has a connection for vga or dvi then all you need is a cable. Since we canceled we have saved about $180 / month (over 1.5 years).

If you have to spend money then #3 is the best option, but I would consider moving your existing PC and modem/router.
