Default Reducing clothing expenses

I see many posts about saving on clothes, How about using less?

I work at an office, so 3 pants and 5 shirts do the trick.
For personal time, 4 pants and 5 tops are enough
I own 5 dresses collected over the years.
I have 1 pair of flip-flops, one pair of sneakers, 1 pair of boots and two pairs of working shoes, medium heel. 2 party shoes.

I think I replace two items a year about ($40 each, so $80 a year).
Many of my items are over 5 years old.
I think it helps that I buy the clasics...

Well, socks and underwear goes faster, but I think it is 1 package a year.

What do you think?

I think that is a pretty good list. For those who live in an area where winter is very cold (like me), I would add a winter coat, a pair of gloves, and a scarf to that list. And boots you can wear in the snow.

i have a few more items than that.
i do like the idea of simplicity when it comes to clothing, but in reality it is very difficult for me to do and I am not sure I would be overly happy about it either. I love clothes
thankfully my work uniforms are almost all taken care of. when i work at my first job, i have two button up shirts with company logo and my name embroidered on them, and I can wear whatever pants/skirts/shorts and shoes I want.
at my second job, i wear industry standard checkered chef pants and mens polo shirt (usually get them for $6 at some stores) and shoes that i buy to wear just for that job, usually dunlops for around $30 a pair, last me usually a year. not flattering, but it does the job.
i'm not even going to go into my leisure clothing...
