Default Major British Study confirms Organic Foods not Healthier

Do you mostly seek out organically grown foods? Why? Is your premise correct?
A significant study insists organic foods are no more healthy than regular foods. the amount of pesticides used are statistically insignificant.

The main reason to buy/support organically grown foods is to support a small operation or your belief that your organic purchases are helping the environment.

I like to buy foods at farmer's markets during the season and support nearby growers/producers. I still have concerns about what is included in products from 3rd world countries. So many foods now have a few ingredients from non identified places.

I prefer organic simply for the protection of the environment and my personal sensitivity to chemicals. My body can't process Red #40 (a harmless dye used in a lot of processed foods) or Nitrites very well. I would hate to encounter a pesticide that my body doesn't process well since usually my breathing or my digestion is the first to go.

Milk I prefer organic/ local and natural (yes I know there's no regulation of that word) because it tastes better (not sure how they are transporting it but twice I have had to give up regular milk brands because the milk tasted like something other than milk often enough for me to say enough).

For the most part though, I just eat minimally processed food, not organic.

That sounds reassuring but I thought the British are very strict on their standards of what can be used and the amount as far as pesticides are concerned.

We are getting more and more imported produce - even from China - who I do not trust at all - even their green tea can have some nasty pesticides (but some are trying to get away from pesticide practice on tea).

Just trying to keep away from anything from China can be a challenge.

I don't think that anyone buys organic thinking it has better nutrition. I think they buy organic to avoid pesticides that they perceive as harmful and, as Caoineag suggested, out of concerns for the environment.
