Right there with ya... too many times, I've made a list - and went way above and beyond it.

When we were first married, we made no money. So trips to the store included a list and a calculator. And then we started making money - we started buying what ever we wanted, regardless if it was on sale or not. I still tend to do that - but having recently created a new budget... I am giving ourselves $300 for the grocery stores and $180 for Costco. Our little man is still in diapers, so that is included in those dollars amount. I used to buy them in bulk @ Costco - because it was cheaper. But now I am thinking of buying a different, but cheaper brand. Which would save us even more money.

So - our first shopping trip, on our new budget, is scheduled for April 12. I will be coupon cutting and ad-searching up until then. Wish me luck!

P.S. I still have a huge box of diapers, so they won't be neccessary to buy this month at all!

make a list and shop online -no temptations that way - easy to stick to your list

I think it does, as long as you are really careful about making sure that you include everything that you need. And don't stray from the list!
