I have my credit card billed for my phone and cable internet. I've never had a problem, I get the 1% cash back, and I get an extra month to pay (and/or protest, but I've never had to do that.)

I use Checkfree for 3 bills (the only way I can pay one of my credit cards online is through Checkfree) and there are a couple I pay directly on the company's website. My cell phone bill goes directly to my credit card, which feels less risky to me than having bills come directly out of my checking account. I don't like doing that because I'm afraid I'll forget to write in the auto-pay bills and start bouncing things. The credit card gets paid off every month, anyway, and I'm happy to get my cashback bonus. I actually wish more of my billers would let me hook up to my credit card, but some won't let me do that.

Yes we do this with a lot of auto payments even though we no longer are using credit cards otherwise. We have had no problems with it but I do check the statements carefully and also we use mvelopes for budgeting so the transactions are downloaded very quickly and I know what's been paid. If something would ever look wrong I check on it right away.

Instead of utilizing an Online Bill Pay, I just go directly to the creditor's site and pay through them. I've heard stories of Online Bill payers having substantial delays in getting the physical check to their creditors.

I'll stay safe and go through the creditors sites.

Yeah, I'm still holding out on this service. I'm kinda an old-fashioned girl, still using the ole envelopes and stamps, still writing out all my bills in a notebook I go through twice a month. That whole letting people have access to our stuff is just scary to me. I don't trust it yet. Someday maybe, but right now what I'm doing is working for me.
