Hello,
I have an exterior door to my attached garage that is rarely used. While the garage and house itself is covered in vinyl siding, the door is made of wood and has aged badly. It would cost me about $100 to replace the door. Instead of replacing the door, I would like to somehow cover the door to protect it from the elements. I've found a large all-fiberglass sheet(no paperboard) at my local home improvement store that is similar to suspended fiberglass ceiling panels. My idea is to use construction glue to glue it to the door - as if it has a new "skin". Does anyone know if this type of fiberglass be suitable for exterior applications? Or any other ideas? |

I made fiberglass storm windows for my basement and it works well. When you go to the hardware store, they have clips you can buy and screw in so you can remove the fiberglass if you want to use the door.
a piece that big might run you 50 bucks though... so you might be better off buying a new door. |
