I guess I don't see that at our store. May depend on the management. What I get buy the case (after the garden and our home canned/freezer supply is gone for the year) are:
Canned goods:
mushrooms
yogurt
olives
peaches
pears
green beans
chili beans
corn
soup
carrots
mixed fruit
rice
dried beans
jello and pudding mixes
oatmeal
dry cereal
pretzels
pringles (when we picnic they don't crush)
breakfast/granola bars
flour
sugar
salt
spices
cheese
canned ham (we keep one on hand for power outages as it is precooked...)
bleach
cat liter (for snow/ice traction)
ketchup
mustard
pickles
frozen juice
ice cream
I also buy their brand of Banquet TV dinners (sometimes they even have banquet) for 79 cents each. I use those on the mornings I get a call to sub teach at 7:30 and they want me there at 8:00--makes an inexpensive and quick lunch.
I love their produce. Last week they had yellow banannas for 19 cents a lb. The regular grocery store had marked down brown ones for 69 cents lb.
Ours also carries some name brand--such as pringles for 99 cents a can--they are $1.29 at the regular grocery store when on sale. M&M's are also half the price of walmart, Aldies carries the name brand candy--I use it when I make trail mix.
My mom had some of their frozen jumbo shrimp. Next time I will buy some--it was very good, and we eat shrimp every 3-4 weeks, so I know my shrimp.
