Depends. If you want to do the midnight infomercials get rich quick schemes, I think it's a bad idea. Doing something you specialize in and enjoy doing, good idea.

I agree - go where your heart and talents are and make magic happen - ta daaaaa - you're working from home. You've just got to keep in mind that if you work for yourself, you've got to be a slavedriver some days!!

my parents started a home based business in 2001, just them two installing and supplying timber flooring (yes, my mum worked on a job site!). the first few years ran at a loss. its now 2009 and its annual turnover is 740k. they put my DF through an apprenticeship (he's now fully qualified and earns $50-$60k a year). They also have another apprentice who's about to finish, and another casual labourer they are thinking of putting through an apprenticeship. my mum 'retired' to office work and is the office manager, and i do all the bookwork.
its worth it if you stick to your guns. it will be hard for the first bit though.

get rich quick schemes, i agree it's a bad idea. late-night infomercials however i'm no so sure. there's a reason why they're spending that much to air a 30 min ad...just sayin.

The way to make money on late-night infomercials is to do a infomercial on how to make money doing infomercials.

I just started selling prescription drugs over the internet. Its so easy (I'm saving people 20 to 80%) and since people buy in three month supplies, the commissions are great.

Default Any online "business" scam warnings?

It is so difficult to mine through all the "great opportunities" online, some are just so tempting.
Does anyone have any experience, both good and bad about making reasonable money online - any tips about what to look for?
