Default Waking up and frugality

Do you think that the time you get up in the morning determines how frugal you'll be during the day? I have found that when I get up early in the morning, that I spend less on those days while when I get up late I spend more money. Part of it is that when I get up late, I'm usually in a rush and that ends up making the day more expensive. If I get up late, it also means that I had a late night the night before so I am more tired than when I get up at my normal waking time. Does anyone have a similar experience?

For women, spending money is like comfort food. When we feel tired or stressed, we reach for food and/or go shopping!

But I suppose you are running late, it's easier to stop for a muffin & latte or too tired to cook dinner so u go out. For me, shopping to buy anything is farther away than anything else I have to do, so shopping isn't an answer. Unless, of course, I drop off the girls at school & then head to McDonalds. (grin)

I havn't really noteced an effect on spending, but I do notice an effect on my house and such. so long as I am up between 6:30 and 7:30 I do pretty good on getting everything done, but if they wake me to early I just curl up and try to play 'catch up' on sleep. If they wake me up to late I start to feel the whole day is screwed up and it snowballs down from there.

I agree with you about spending more when I sleep in. When I get up late I don't take time to eat breakfast and usually end up eating out at least once during the day. That adds up fast.

I think this is very true. I work here at home, but I'm just it a better mind set all round if I've got my full nights sleep in. I'm better at the details...........and finances are all about the details here at my house.

I also think I spend more if I'm up late. Not so much spend as use stuff......if that makes any sense.

The old adage "Early to bed, early to rise; makes a man healthy, wealthy & wise" comes to mind here......
