Don't watch TV, with the digital switch coming soon you can get all the channels you need reliably (not fuzzy that is).

I unplug a few appliances.
I plan meals, and make lots for later.
I make coffee at home and bring it in a mug.
I put my loundry on the clothes line to dry when it's warm.
I buy shoes and other item only when they are falling appart and I try to find the best deals.
Use coupons.
Borrow books from the library and borrow movies from my parents because they don't get the frugal thing. The money burns in their pockets.haha

Turkey carcass from Easter Sunday dinner, currently simmering in water with deglazed liquid from roasting pan and now added mostly root veggies. Barley has been cooked and ready to add when serving to give an almost stew-like consistency. It will make a meal with the addition of buttered bread. There is far to much for our family so I will take 4 servings to our elderly neighbor.

I save by buying things on sale at grocery store, using coupons, shopping at otcwholesale.com for drugstore products to avoid paying full price at CVS and only shopping online when I can get free shipping.
I also eat in most of the time and have company over for drinks rather than a night out.

I do the same as the last poster. sales matched with coupons, and rebates too! We try our best not to eat out if possible. IF we do eat out, we order WATER only to drink, we never buy sodas or other drinks.

I keep only big bills in my wallet.
I don't have a credit card.

Thus I think twice before spending and splitting that beautiful 50.

One thing I bet all of you do, but didn't post, is take care of what you have. Someone mentioned keeping cars maintained, but what about cleaning things and keeping them nice? And not putting wet glasses on furniture to make rings?

Yes, we always take care of what we have. I have had people think my 7 year old car is brand new.
I never use a debit card. I pay for almost everything with cash.

Most of the things I used to buy at Target, I now buy at the Dollar Store. They actually carry the same name brands too! I will be getting Windex, Shampoo, Toilet Paper, etc for $1 a pop instead of $3... and that adds up.

I was in shock when a few weeks ago I entered a dollar store --- brand names at 50% off --- it changed my view of $stores

I buy a lot of stuff at the dollar store too. I bought a mop at CVS with no price marked on it. It was $19 with tax. I took it back and got one for $5 at the dollar store.

I did not want to mention the name of the store ---- but I had an experience just like that one

I think the easiest place to stretch money is with lunch. Keep it cheap and pack your own.
