Default Need advice on magazine subscription

My husband recently retired from the local library. One of the perks of his former job was he could read the newest copies of magazines first. However, that perk no longer resists. We still check out magazines, but he really misses Time and Newsweek's most current copies. Anyone have a suggestion where I could buy a subscription to one of these very reasonably for Christmas for him? Thank you for your help!

The place that I got my copy of Newsweek from gave me a 92% discount! That meant $20 for the whole year. I found it here:

magmall.com/products/News/Newsweek+Magazine-SKU-nws01.htm.

(I can't post full links because I haven't posted 15 times yet... Sorry)

I can't find Time on their website, but I found it for $39.95 per year (82% discount) here:

magazinesusa.com/html/Time5.shtml

Hope that helps. I have heard about some magazine subscription service that lets you pay a monthly fee for any 3 magazines you would like, and it lets you change them from month to month I think but I can't remember the name. It might be worth checking into though as well.

Check Amazon and Ebay for subscriptions. I usually trade my leftover hotel and airline points for magazines. You can do this through points.com to get an Amazon gift certificate.

I can't remember exactly where on the internet, but after buying something I would get this offer for free subscriptions to several magazines. Time or Newsweek were among the many magazines offered. Most of the others were pretty awful.

Since I'm overwhelmed as it is, I always pass up the free offer

I have learned to let them expire, then wait 2 months and renew. Meanwhile, you keep getting offers in the mail for less and less. I just renewed National Geographic for $8 for a full year, due to one of these offers. It expired in October and will start back and the lower price in Jan--worth waiting for.

Just found it where to get the free subscriptions:

Bizrate

I just ordered something online and filled out the questions from Bizrate and at the end was offered free subscriptions to any four:

Time, Entertainment Weekly, Ladies Home Journal, Sports Illustrated, Redbook, National Geographic Adventure, National Geographic Traveler, Food & Wine, Business Week, Entrepreneur, Reader's Digest, Money, Fortune, Travel + Leisure, Real Simple, ShopSmart, PCPhoto Essence, SmartMoney, Inc., Marie Claire, Country Living, Traditional Home, Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine, Sports Illustrated, KIDS, Maxim, Blender, Southern Accents, Sunset, Elle, Decor, American Photo, Metropolitan, Home, Elle,

Some have a $2 charge.

If you don't get the survey from buying something online you can visit
Bonus Center

where they offer 3 months free.
