about the challenge made me think.
great challenge today. i am constantly throwing out my mail! is there a way to find out if there are other gas companies ,or electric companies in my area that might be cheaper? i guess i just always assumed that we had to use the main company in the area.

It depends on where you live. Some places you have to use the local company while some cities have opened utilities like electricity and gas to competition. There is no centralized website that I know about, so I would guess the best place would be to check in your local yellow pages or give you town or city government office a call and ask which companies operate in your area.
