Default North America's Economic Future

As more and more negative economic figures come out of Wall Street regarding the subprime mortgage crisis, world food supply shortages and risks associated with our fuel (gasoline) consumption, I would like to ask what the key focus will be on these issues during the presidential elections in the U.S. ? I am hoping that there will be a concerted effort on the part of our leaders to find concrete solutions rather than band-aid campaign promises. Hacik Istanbul

Politicians will say whatever they need to get elected.

Concrete solutions can be difficult to implement in a democracy. Everyone has their own interests and the solutions you end up with are all half-baked to appease everyone.
