Swapping books

Just wondering if anyone here has had any luck with book trading sites. I found Swaptree – Trade books like a book swap or trade video games and swap cds or trade dvds, but I don't know if that is a good one or just the most linked to one on Google. (or they paid the most to put them in the top ad supported link section)

I sold over 100 books at Half Price Books one time, and got $25. That is only .25 a book! I'll never do that again. All of them had been read one time, so they were like new! I have a few, very few, books that I read over, but most of them are "one and done".

Yea, half.com is great for buyers, but generally terrible for sellers. A good book swap site is almost a must, though admittedly I don't know of one off the top of my head.

If you don't re-read books very often, I (and probably others) would recommend you either borrow books from the library, you can rent books on various websites (i've used chegg.com in the past), or buying them from low-cost second-hand stores. Only buy a book if you plan on keeping it for a long time, and (as I like to think of it) re-enjoying the book multiple times .

Yeah, the library would probably be the best, but I don't get there very often. There isn't one in my town, the one where my husband lives is only open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and I am not there those days.

I've tried to stop buying books, and I've done pretty good for the past 10 months, but I fell off the wagon the other day. I only bought one, though.

I'm cleaning up the house to get ready to sell and I have a full box of them that didn't get sold last time. but I don't have the bookshelves to keep them all, and it really is a waste to have them here if I am not going to read them.

I don't buy books. I can't stand them laying around after I finished reading them. And, I know that once I read something, I am never going to read it again unless it is a reference book like a textbook. I do buy those but no fiction books. Library for me.
I think if you just started making a habit and making time for the Library you would really enjoy. And, stop browsing at bookstores unless you are planning to buy.

And if you love classics, try the website called "project gutenberg' for free online reading of hundreds of books. You can even pledge a bit of help to get more books online page by page.

If you have books you don't want donate them to the library or nursiing homes. ALs o if the library doesn't have the book you want se if the do interlibrary loan so if you do go to the library they will have what you want.

At my local dvd rental store, they push this cart outside a couple times a week, and they have all kinds of books on sale super discounted. That is REALLY fun!!
