Default Break down & reassemble upholstered furniture?

The stairway in my house has only a 29.75 inch passage way, but I want to take club chairs upstairs. Club chairs are never that small.

Is it possible I could take apart such chairs and reassemble them? Perhaps this is more do-able with older furniture than newer? Having to re-do the upholstery does not intimidate me. I would probably be doing it any way. But am I likely to be able to take apart frames and get them to be sturdy again?

What kind of trades person could I hire to do this, if I cannot?

And before any one asks, the club chairs probably won't fit through the windows. There is a possibility they could be turned on their sides and manipulated through a window, but I'd have to locate the exact chairs to measure first. (I haven't yet bought any due to this problem.) And I would have to drop down the piano hinged awning on my front porch to get access to the windows above.
