Default Partial amounts

I talked in another thread about cutting dryer sheets in half since they work just as well that way. I also only use 3/4 of a cup of washing detergent (I used to use 1/2 cup, but switched to all cold water washes and 3/4 seems to work better).

I'm wondering what other people use at only partial recommended amount that doesn't effect the results?

This might sound weird but juice, I cut my kids juice with water and I started doing mine too. Now I find pure juice to be sickeningly sweet and strong, kind of like regular pop vs diet. (when you're used to diet regular is like thick sugar syrup). Actually I can't drink straight pop either, I cut it with seltzer water. Also I got my DH to use less sugar in his tea, for health resons, but sugar's not free.

You can use less of the manufacturers recommendation for detergent. I never use a full load of laundry detergent, usually half.

I dilute some cleaning solutions. You don't need full strenth window cleaner most of the time. And use old newspapers instead of paper towels. Newspapers clean windows really well.

I don't use that much shampoo or rinse. I don't water it down, but I don't use the huge amounts you see them use in commercials. The same with toothpaste.

I also don't use the full amount when washing clothes either. My clothes get just as clean. My hair gets just as clean by using not as much shampoo.

I just recently cut my dishwasher detergent in half, and I have noticed no difference. I did the same thing with washing clothes, washing hair, and toothpaste.

I have found that jumping to half scares me, so I go gradually a little bit less each time.
