I do not coupon; I buy very little convenience food and it seems that often the items that coupons are for are not items I would buy, either generic or name brand. I know some people can save a lot using coupons but I know I wouldn't enjoy it and don't think the savings *for me* would be worth the time it would take *me* to effectively coupon. I am NOT against couponing, it's just not *for me*. I prefer to do a lot of the bulk shopping I do (bins of sunflower seeds, etc.-almost but not always cheaper than packaged, sugar seems to be a constant exception), and go the the Outlet place, and cook from scratch and eat real simply.

This is pretty much my attitude too. My sister-in-law spends a great deal of time and effort couponing, and I am sure she saves a lot of money for what she buys, but, she also buys a lot more than I do BECAUSE it's such a bargain. We (2 adults one toddler) spend $40 a week on average for everything we need including diapers. I mean, we spend $40/week on neccessities (food, medicine, light bulbs, batteries, TP, tissues, laundry detergent, etc). I write a meal plan for the week and shop to supply that plus whatever staples we're running low on. Works for us.
